Look refreshed and awake

Did you know that your brow plays a large role in how you communicate emotions? A heavy or wrinkled brow can make you look tired, frustrated, or angry, even when you're well-rested and content. With a brow lift, our plastic surgeons can help lift the brow and smooth wrinkles in the upper face, helping you look more alert and youthful.

Rejuvenate your upper face for an alert, youthful look

With age, the tissues of the face tend to droop and sag. This creates a tired, heavy look to the upper eyelids as well as “crow’s feet” or wrinkles next to the eyes. Often, people will compensate for drooping eyebrows by contracting the muscles of the forehead. This creates horizontal wrinkles in the forehead, which can become quite deep over time. At times, people will also have hyperactive muscles between the eyebrows, which create deep creases in the lower forehead area giving a perpetual “scowl.”

While some non-surgical treatments, such as Botox or Dysport, can help smooth the wrinkles we make as we move our face, a brow lift is the only way to dramatically tighten and lift the tissues of the forehead.

How a brow lift can help

Rejuvenation of the upper third of the face has traditionally been done through a long incision placed in the hairline; however, with our new minimally invasive technology, rejuvenation of the upper face is performed through three small incisions. Our advanced technology alleviates the concern of hair loss or unsightly scars as seen with traditional forehead lifts and allows for brow correction without the “surprised” look often seen in overcorrected cases.

Through these small incisions, your surgeon will reposition the brow creating a more alert and youthful appearance. Your brow line will then be set for optimal healing.

About the procedure

This one-hour procedure is performed under general anesthesia or local anesthesia with sedation at a state-of-the-art surgical center near our office. The procedure is performed through three very small incisions, hidden in your hairline. The results of your brow lift will be visible immediately following the procedure. You will have some swelling and bruising following the procedure which will resolve to reveal your final results.

Recovering from your brow lift

A brow lift is a well-tolerated procedure with minimal post-operative pain. The most common side effect is a headache. You will have a head wrap on following the procedure. This will be removed at your first office appointment, generally 24 hours after your procedure. After the dressing is removed, you will be able to shower and carefully style your hair. Over the following days, you can gradually return to

Can I combine a brow lift with other procedures?

A brow lift is often combined with other facial procedures for full facial rejuvenation. Brow lifts are often performed with procedures such as eyelid lifts or a facelift. Brow lifts can also be combine with fractional CO2 or erbium laser to improve the skin texture of wrinkles. Together with your surgeon, you will decide which procedures will be performed in order to achieve the desired results.
