If so, you may benefit from chin augmentation. Chin augmentation may be performed with a chin implant or with dermal fillers
Chin augmentation with an implant it is a relatively minor procedure that can make a dramatic difference in a person's appearance. Some consider a chin implant the single most safe, predictable and transformational facial procedure. There are many types of chin implants available. Our chin implants are a semi-solid silicone elastomer. No liquid component is used; therefore mitigating the concern of an implant leak.
This thirty-minute procedure is performed under local anesthesia with sedation. During your procedure, the surgeon makes a small incision under the chin to create a pocket for the implant to be placed. The implant is then slipped into the pocket and secured in place. The incision is then closed, and a dressing is applied. Following your procedure, you will have a compression wrap for 24 hours and then wear it nightly for one week.
While everyone recovers differently, chin implant placement is a relatively minor procedure. Your chin will be tender and swollen for a few days post-operatively. You can resume your normal activities the day following surgery; however, should refrain from strenuous exercise for 2 to 3 weeks. You will need to wear the surgical strap at night for one week following your procedure.
Chin augmentation with implant is often combined with liposuction of the neck or jawline, upper lip lift, or even facelift for full facial rejuvenation. When appropriate, combining procedures can improve the balance of one’s facial features.
